IPOH: Land matters that are already under court process cannot be interfered with, says Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad.
The Perak Mentri Besar said all parties should respect decisions by the courts.
“As the matter is now under the court’s jurisdiction, we should just follow accordingly,” he said when asked to comment on a group of Tanjung Malim farmers facing eviction.
Earlier on Wednesday (July 26), they had submitted a memorandum to his office, hoping for the state to step in and help.
On another issue, Saarani said any schools interested in using Stadium Perak for their sports day can apply to the Ipoh City Council.
“The stadium is managed by the council and I have been informed that some schools have already used it for their sports day,” he said.
Earlier, Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh announced that schools intending to hold their sports day can apply to use the facilities at the National Sports Stadium in Bukit Jalil and two other facilities for free from October.
On the incident in which a primary school pupil was hurt after a toilet cistern fell on her on July 20, Saarani said the Education Ministry would look into the matter.
The Year Three pupil was reportedly hurt when a ceramic cistern came loose from its mounting and fell on her at SK Perpaduan at Taman Perpaduan here.
The girl was not seriously injured.
